Johnny and Lu make stuff pretty, though you may find our idea of pretty is the kind that gets you in the gut.

We’ve been at this separately for over a decade but neither of us took is into the hardcore commercial direction until a couple of years ago. This is our maiden voyage as an entity. Johnny’s bff also throws the design down and when he’s not travelling around the universe, he puts in some really incredible work. He’s called Filth. Not the little bloke from the metal band. This one’s about twice the height.

Along the way, we’ve had the great fortune of blurting out some good words with our friends (who became clients at that stage) and translating all of that noise into signal. Our services have been entirely through word of mouth until now, and while we can continue to make the excuse that some of the best hair cutters pretty much have their own hair on backwards, it’s about time we got this old beast into shape and tried to tell you about ourselves.

We had all kinds of marketing speak all over the place on this site and after a few hours sleep, it felt like we were wearing really bad costumes. We’re not corporate-kissy. We just can’t pull it off. We also think they’d know something was up when we showed up with hand tattoos and that kind of eye makeup. So what are we doing here?

Our favourite projects have arisen from some gorgeously batty, excited artist type throwing out these little daydreams in shouts and whispers and ending it with “You know what I mean?” and WE DO. Yes, darlings, we get it, and if we don’t, we’ll ask for songs, films, colours, poems, anything you can think of that makes your bulbs buzz until we nail it in the third eye and present it for the world to see. That is, your world. We can do all that SEO optimisation hoodoo and we can do it well. We can handle the geekmungous backend and use our coding ninja skills to make the machine behind the pretty face work so you can do e-commerce with a merchant account or just through your Paypal account. We can help you set up an eBay store or an Etsy store if that’s what you want. We can help you sell your mp3s online or sell DVDs of your film/video. We can get you in touch with the appropriate parties to get done what you want to get done and we’re not going to charge you an arm and a leg for it.

We’ve actually gotten jobs from people who have said they were turned down by several web design agencies because the job wasn’t big enough. NO job is too small for us, really. We may not have started out taking our marketing too seriously but we’ve always taken our work seriously. Design is something that drives us mad every day, meaning we’re consumed by the need to see what’s out there, the amazing artists of all media, and when good design clicks into place, it’s extremely satisfying to behold. We’re aesthetes, not students. We won’t hit you over the head with techniques and convention. We’ll listen to you and try our level best to make the business side of your project an organic extension of your work.
